hi!
Interesting idea for a list. :)
Just one question: does this list include or exclude
medical investigators? I'm thinking specifically about my
favorite TV series, "The Burning Zone," which is about a
government team of doctors and a special agent who
investigate bioterrorism, natural outbreaks, and criminal
medical activity in general. Does it qualify, or is it
too far out? Just curious, since it's what I'm writing at
the moment (when I get the time to write).

Hello Everyone!
My name is Barbara and I am the person moderately in charge of this list
(just call me the District Attourney). My partner, and co-conspirator
Heather is also hanging around, the Police Commissioner of this
district.
To answer Jenny's question -- I'm not that familiar with the show you're
talking about, but I think the question best used to determine if a
story is appropriate or not is if there is a lawyer involved, or an
officer with the power to arrest someone. If your special agent is of
the FBI variety, and can go out and arrest the bad guys when he finds
them, then he's law enforcement and we're thrilled to have him here.
As a bit more introduction, this list was created mainly to encompass
about all the types of slash my partner and I write. (We couldn't quite
work in her Buffy slash, but there we are.) My biases lean towards Due
South, and the US Marshals movie characters, both of which I write, and
X-Files, Law and Order, and the Practice, all of which Heather writes.
But there are so many wonderful cop and lawyer shows out there, we can't
wait to hear about everyone else's favorites.
If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to ask. Also, we're
going to be posting stories on the list's website at
https://members.tripod.com/wtnsslist, so please remember to include
permission to archive with your stories if you don't mind having them
put up.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Is Original Fiction that otherwise falls under the charter of this list
(slash involving law enforcement) acceptable?
--

Hi Rauhnee!

I'm not certain I understand the question. All the stories posted
should be original fiction. If you are asking about original characters, I would
say that as long as the story falls recognizeably within the world of one of the
acceptable TV shows/Movies, then original characters are fine. We would prefer
slash involving at least one actual character from the show, but they certainly don't
have to be regular characters, if you happen to fall in love with a guest star at
some point.

If this didn't answer your question, please let me know and I will
attempt to be more clear.

Barbara

Hi Everybody!

Just so you know, I've got a page on the website now with various fandoms
listed, and a few links to websites with info on them. If everyone would
do me the favor of jumping over there and skimming down the list, then let
me know if there are any fandoms list members write/are writing/have
written that aren't listed, or any webpages for the fandoms I don't have
links to on hand. The few I have links for already should be able to give
an idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks!
Also, I've added an extra fic page. For all fandoms that don't take place
in the real world, and therefor might be more difficult to categorize, we
now have "Inadmissible in Court". Mainly, this is for worlds who's law
enforcement may not be immediately recognizable as "police", but still
serve that function. Jedi from The Phantom Menace spring immediately to
mind (and who here didn't see the movie and immediately think
Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan?) , or Geribaldi from Bab5.
Just keeping you updated. :)

Your DA, Barbara

Hi all!

I've just finished two stories that are not slash. But they are very
dear to my heart and I'd love to have your feedback all the same. And I
feel that there is a great potential for slash in the sequels I'm still
working on.

So if you're interested I'd be glad to send them to you, off-list or
on-list, that's up to you!

Ciao,
Birgitt

From: "Barbara J. Webb" <magik@socket.net>

Hi everyone!

I've been out of town since last Wednesday, so the archive is a bit
behind. With a bit of patience, though, I'll have all the new stories
up by the end of the week.

I'm not sure how Birgitt is defining slash, but non NC-17 slash is
certainly allowed -- including G rated stories with slashy overtones.
And neither Hth nor I are all that picky -- if any of you list folk want
to experiment in some alternative lifestyles, like <gasp> a story that
has very light slash elements, then feel free -- especially if you feel
like sequals may turn into slash. I can't speak for everyone, of
course, but I will read nearly anything I can get my hands on that has
my favorite characters in it. :)

If anyone has a question about the appropriateness of a story in the
future: if you send it to me before posting it, I can give you a
definitive answer.
